Zimmelman Law PLLC (Z Law) was founded by Matthew Zimmelman, Esq. following a decade of experience at several bankruptcy and foreclosure defense firms. After beginning his career in real estate transactions, he shifted his focus in the wake of the 2008 Great Recession to support individuals and small businesses navigating debt challenges. Throughout his practice, he advanced quickly into senior and managing attorney roles, assisting thousands of clients in eliminating debt and preventing foreclosure.
Through his experience, Matthew gained a deep understanding of how these firms operate and identified an opportunity to elevate the level of care provided to clients facing financial hardship. He actively studied best practices from fellow attorneys and bankruptcy trustees to better understand how cases should be handled. One key observation was that while bankruptcy can be an effective tool, it is often recommended too broadly and not always the most appropriate solution for every situation. This insight shaped his commitment to a more thoughtful, individualized approach to debt relief.
